These 2-day treks combine trekking through the incredible landscapes of Sapa with an overnight stay in a homestay. After a day of trekking, you can relax and enjoy the warmth and hospitality of your host family, as you spend the night in their home. You will be able to enjoy a delicious dinner of home cooked food and wake up to a tasty breakfast before a second day of trekking. This tour combines mountain landscapes, rice paddies and local villages for an unforgettable trip in Sapa.

Sapa:  is an overwhelming vista that reminds you of the greatness of nature. The vivid green mountains climb high into the dramatic skies before cascading down the other side, the balconies of rice paddies forming hypnotizing patterns all the way down to the valleys. However, the peace and serenity that you feel when drinking in the fresh mountain air has only been reestablished in recent years.

Sapa - The Terrible Tour Guide Travel

Trekking Trails

It is no surprise that one of the most popular activities in Sapa is trekking. With sweeping views of mountains and rice paddies that echo into the distance and clusters of scattered villages, this is the ultimate in natural beauty. The trekking opportunities in this area are abundant and there are routes to suit all ages and abilities. From trekking up the majestic mountains for panoramic views, to following the snaking paths through the valleys, you will find your perfect route. A popular option is to trek to Ta Van Village where you can meet the H’mong ethnic community or trek a little further to the quieter Red Dao village of Sin Chai.

We had a great time walking through the corn fields and rice fields. Zoom our guide was excellent and would highly recommend him. He is very knowledgeable on the area having grown up there and his English was excellent. A beautiful walk through the village to the waterfall. I would recommend this tour.

During my first visit to Vietnam, I wanted to go hiking in the countryside and see what rural life is like while learning about the people in the northern part of the country. The Sapa tour was exactly what I was looking for and turned out to be as interesting and informative as I’d hoped! The tour guide was absolutely wonderful. She was professional and knowledgeable, and I learned a great deal from her. She was very clear with instructions, as well. She welcomed questioned and constantly offered information about the land and the people. She was born and raised in one of the villages we visited, so she had first-hand knowledge of the area.

The travel agency director, Tung, was nothing short of amazing. He responded almost immediately to all of my inquiries and he was always courteous and professional. He took care of all of the details, including booking my train ticket and arranging pickups and drop-offs. The cost of the tour was very reasonable, too. The homestay in which I spent a night was excellent; the owner was very welcoming and the food was awesome. The sleeping accommodations were great after a long day’s hike, and the view was incredible. It was not a 5-star hotel, but that is part of its charm; it is someone’s home that designed to welcome guests and it was much more interesting than staying in a hotel. Plus, it supports the local people.

If you’re looking for a tour that is genuinely informative and involves staying somewhere other than a standard hotel, I cannot recommend Tung and his agency highly enough. When I return to Vietnam and am looking for a tour, this is the agency that I’ll call!

Absolute amazing experience! Pe was a very friendly guide with not just good English but also conversation. He takes you to some amazing places and you really get to see Sapa like a local. As part of the trip, you can visit the guides house and meet his family, who are warm and friendly. The highlight was one of the days when we hiked up a mountain through fog, reaching the peak, suddenly it cleared to spectacular views all above the clouds. Definitely would do again and frequently recommend it to my friends!
