Hoa Lu, the original capital of Vietnam, brims with historical and cultural significance. A city of outstanding natural beauty, it is unspoiled by modern-day developments. It is clear to see why Hoa Lu & Tam Coc are often referred to as the Ha Long Bay on land: the natural limestone peaks jutting out of the land create a rugged landscape which fades into the horizon.

You will be picked up around 08:00 to 08:30 from your hotel in Hanoi to travel for about 2.5 hrs by coach to Hoa Lu. Get to watch the scenery transform from high rises to sprawling agricultural lands and craggy mountains. You will explore the streets of Vietnam’s historic capital, as well as the Le and Dinh Dynasties‘ famous ancient temples. You will then board the bus and travel to Tam Coc where you will have lunch at around 12:30.
In the afternoon, a boat ride will take you to Tam Coc where you’ll marvel at the beauty of the karst formations as you navigate along their base and row into one of the many caves carved through the limestone. After that, you can also cycle for an hour, to cover around 5 km from Tam Coc to Bich Dong, on peaceful quiet roads through villages, rice fields, rivers, and rocky outcrops. After an activity-filled day, you can then rest on your way back to Hanoi. Finally, you will be dropped off at your hotel around at 18:00.
